Customer/Counter Service Representative – Fresno

Job Description:

Jorgensen Company is looking for a positive and professional Customer Service Representative to join our team.  In this role, you will be one of our customers’ first point of contact. As Customer Service Representative, you will be communicating with customers in-person, over the phone or via email. You will also be giving customers information about products and services, processing orders and returns, resolving customer complaints, and answering questions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a courteous manner and always set a positive office atmosphere
  • Create positive customer relationships by defusing angry or upset customers
  • Able to multi-task projects and job duties through prioritization and organization
  • Understand products and services to provide quality service
  • Process customer requests and inquiries to include: account maintenance, billing questions and payment handling, establishing an initial point of contact
  • Resolve customer complaints in a timely manner notifying management as needed
  • Place orders, refunds, or exchanges in a timely manner
  • Work with warehouse on will-call orders
  • Work with the purchasing agent on special order items to complete customer orders
  • Communicate with other warehouses to bring in stock items as needed for customer
  • Communicate with the safety manager on products or training
  • Dispatch customer calls with accurate information given by customer
  • Print dispatches to appropriate offices
  • Support field technicians with service orders, invoicing, payment handling and general inquires while creating open communication, trust, and positive attitude
  • Answer questions about warranties or terms of sale
  • Inform customer of specials, promotions, and product recalls
  • Perform clerical duties as required by photocopying, scanning, faxing emailing or mailing
  • Scan, organize and maintain files and records accordingly; update when necessary
  • Handle payments accurately
  • Manage cash box drawer daily
  • Willing to cross train in other departments as a backup when needed
  • Assist with inventory count and/or enter adjustments at year-end
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills with supervisors, peers, and customers
  • Proficiency in 10-key, typing and data entry
  • Time management skills, dependable, accurate and detail oriented
  • Problem solving skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team

Scheduling Coordinator/Data Entry - Fresno

About the Position

A System Scheduler at Jorgensen Company provides our customers with quality customer service, ensures our customer are within compliance by maintaining scheduling frequencies for all types of service in compliance within NFPA Standards and coordinates time of arrival with our field technicians.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Scheduling inspections and incoming dispatches with customers for a multitude of services.  Services include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Backflow Preventers
  • Fire Sprinkler Systems
  • Fire Alarm
  • Wet/Dry Chemical Suppression Systems
  • Clean Agent Suppression Systems
  • Input completed reports via internet to third party reporting agencies.
  • Distribute service reports to customers and local authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) as required or upon request.
  • Comply with safe work practices, safety and environmental standards.
  • Perform follow-up correspondence for all services via phone, email and fax to customers, Fire Department, service technicians, system dispatchers and managers.
  • Create dispatches upon request from technicians and managers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Position Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with customers, fire department personnel, managers, technicians and office staff.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed and an ability to organize a workload.
  • Ability to multitask and perform basic job functions in a timely manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft based programs such as Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • 1 or more years prior office-based experience required.

Shop Technician – Fresno

Summary: Jorgensen Company is looking for a hard-working, hands-on individual that wants to learn a trade in the Fire Protection industry. The right candidate will be trained on how to inspect and repair Fire Extinguishers in our shop as well as potentially in the field. You will also be trained in various aspects of our business.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be mechanically inclined.
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently, perform quality work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean safe work environment.
  • Must be a fast learner.
  • Must be able to pass a background check, drug test, and pre-employment physical exam including a 50lb lift test.
  • Must be able to work varied hours
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be reliable and responsible.
  • Must possess a California Driver’s license with a driving record that is acceptable to our insurance company.
  • Must be able to take and pass the Office of the State Fire Marshall test for Fire Extinguisher Service In accordance with California Health and safety Code and Regulations Title 19 within 6 months from start date of employment. We fully prepare each candidate for this exam.
  • Other duties as assigned.
