The only Amerex product line rated specifically for combustible metal fires — a hazard that standard extinguishers cannot address, and which water or CO2 can make catastrophically worse. Two distinct agents, each targeting specific metal types:
Model B570 — Sodium Chloride: Handles sodium, magnesium, potassium, zirconium, uranium, titanium, and powdered aluminum fires. The agent cakes over burning metal, forming a heat-dissipating crust that excludes air. Soft-flow extension applicator keeps the operator well away from heat and toxic fumes. Available in 150 lb wheeled version.
Model C571 — Copper-based: Developed by the US Navy specifically for lithium and lithium alloy fires. Copper agent is superior to all other agents for lithium metal fires. IMPORTANT: C571 is NOT suitable for lithium-ion battery fires — it is designed for lithium metal only. Available in 250 lb wheeled version with optional Model 859 dolly cart.
